“I enrolled into OFY San Bernardino my freshman year of high school after becoming homeless and behind in my academics. At OFY, I was welcomed, seen, and heard by the most supportive teachers, counselors, center coordinators, and peers. They pushed me to go to RMPR, college tour, and the first international trip to Cuba. I completed the CREW program and attended San Diego State University after graduating from OFY in 2015.

A few of our amazing staff members at Rocky Mountain Pathways Ranch
I initially majored civil engineering and was involved in Engineers Without Borders. I became an academic mentor and resident advisor for the Residential Education Office. My junior year, I redeclared my major in Sociology and managed the local San Diego nonprofit organization, Fulfilling Destiny. With FD we hosted donation drives, packing parties, and the regular distribution of menstrual products to people experiencing homelessness.

Amber now lives in Colorado and helps support Rocky Mountain Pathways Ranch.
I graduated magna cum laude from SDSU in 2019. Ten days later I moved to Allenspark, Colorado to work as the Office Assistant at Rocky Mountain Pathways Ranch. As one of the first students to come back to Pathways Travels, I am filled with happiness and gratitude to represent an OFY alumni.”
